Coffee#1 App

What is the Coffee#1 App?

The Coffee#1 App is a new loyalty system designed to allow customers to collect stamps and earn free drinks securely through their mobile phone. It will also allow customers to link a payment card if they choose for a faster experience at the counter, and will offer exclusive discounts for users to take advantage of.

Why are you replacing the old system?

We have replaced the till system in Coffee#1 and the new tills no longer support the #1Card. As a result we are introducing the app so that there is still a secure way for customers to collect their loyalty stamps.

What about the stamps I had on my #1Card?

When you download the app, you will be able to enter your #1Card number as a promo code and the free drinks you have earned will be added as vouchers in the app. Alternatively, if you do not wish to download the app, hand your #1Card back to the team in store and they will issue vouchers to replace any drinks you had accrued.

I have been given another card by the team in store to collect stamps on. What is it and what should I do with it?

Our stores are issuing Collecting Cards which you can store stamps on until the new app goes live. These cards will store your stamps but cannot be redeemed until the app goes live. Once you download the new app, you can enter the Collecting Card number during the sign-up process by selecting ‘Yes, I have a collecting card’ and entering the card number and pin on the back of the card. The stamps stored will then be added to your app.

What’s the difference between a #1Card and a Collecting Card?

A #1Card is your old loyalty card which you were using before the new tills were installed. A Collecting Card is the temporary card which was issued by the teams after the new tills were installed. Please see the images below for clarification.

When can I download the app?

We expect the app to be released on Monday 16th September. It will be available to download from the Apple Store or Play Store from then.

Will I still earn stamps/free drinks the same way?

Yes- 1 stamp will still be awarded for every barista-prepared hot or cold drink purchased (excludes bottled and baby drinks), and every 10 stamps will trigger a free drink.

What are the new features?

The new app will have several exciting features-

  • In app payment– you will be able to link a payment card securely to the app allowing you to pay and collect your stamps all in one go.
  • Sharing free drink vouchers– you will be able to use your free drink yourself or send the voucher to a friend as a gift.
  • In app offers– There will be regular offers in the app which will allow you to earn extra stamps/discounts as an app user.

My store can’t accept my #1Card but the app hasn’t launched yet. What do I do?

Your barista should be able to issue you with a temporary Collecting Card which can store any stamps you earn ready to transfer to the app as described above. These stamps will not be redeemable until you download the app but will transfer over as stamps and free drinks when the card is linked to an app account.

I cannot/do not wish to download the app. How can I claim loyalty stamps?

Paper stamp cards have been issued to all stores very soon which will allow you to collect stamps and earn free drinks.

I’m not downloading the app- what happens to the stamps on my #1Card?

If you hand your #1Card in at the till your barista can scan the card and issue free drink vouchers to replace any stamps on the #1Card. A free drink voucher will be issued for every full free drink earned and a further voucher for any extra part drink. For example, if your #1Card has a balance of 1 free drink and 1 extra stamp, the barista will issue 2 free drink vouchers- 1 for the free drink earned, and 1 for the extra stamp which you did not have an opportunity to top up to a full free drink.

I have more questions not answered in this guide. Who do I contact?

If you have already downloaded the app please use the in-app help section and a member of the support team will assist with your query. For all other queries please email

Food & Drink

Where does your coffee come from?

Our house blend is sourced from Brazil, Ethiopia and Secondary Africa. Our Decaf is a Brazilian coffee. Our filter coffees come from Costa Rica and India, and our seasonal coffee changes periodically.

What method do you use to process your decaf coffee?

We use the direct method.

How many shots are in your coffees?

We use 2 shots in all of our coffees, both regular and large, excepting single espressos/macchiatos and piccolos.

Where can I find nutritional and allergen information about your menu?

You can find nutritional information here and allergen information here.

How do I know which products are suitable for vegetarians/vegans?

Our food labels have symbols to note vegetarian or vegan friendly products. You can also look on our allergen spreadsheet here. Suitability for Vegetarians/Vegans is listed on the right hand side.

Why do you charge extra for dairy free milk alternatives?

Unfortunately these milks cost more for us to purchase and so the ingredient cost is factored in to the price of drinks made using them. Over time we were able to negotiate a good price on our soya milk as it became more popular and we began to buy more. Once we were able to, we removed the extra charge for soya. We hope that soon we will be able to do the same with our coconut and oat milks.

How do I search and apply for jobs at Coffee#1?

You can see and apply for all of our vacancies on our careers page here.

I'm 15 and I need a weekend job- can I apply for Coffee#1?

Unfortunately not. Our insurance only covers employees aged 16 and over, so you’ll need to wait until you’re at least 16 to apply.

I applied for a job recently but haven't heard back. What should I do?

We receive high volumes of applicants for many roles and as a result our managers usually contact only those candidates who have successfully made it through to the interview stage. If you have not heard back then it is likely that your application was not selected for the next stage. You can contact the store you applied to for more information, or email

We are always expanding so keep checking our careers page here for updates. You can also drop in to your local store and hand in a CV. Even if they have nothing now they can keep it on file for 3 months just in case something comes up!

Gift Cards

I have a gift card but my local store cannot accept it. What should I do?

We are in the process of updating the software to allow gift cards to be used on our new tills. Please bear with us for a few weeks. Your balance is safe and will be available for use as soon as the system is ready.

Where can I buy a Coffee#1 Gift Card?

At present we have suspended the sale of our Gift Cards as the new till system does not yet have the capability to recognise them. As soon as the new system is in place you will be able to buy Gift Cards from all Coffee#1 stores.

Can I buy a gift card online?

Unfortunately not. At present Gift Cards are only available in store.

Where do I find out more about Gift Cards?
