  1. Loyal Nero’s customers, thought we would try Coffee#1 as Neros in town is getting run down. Like: coffee, decor, choice of food/drink. Dislike lighting (too dim), staff could be more friendly.

  2. So excited at the new Coffee#1 in Gloucester. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Going to be my regular hang out!

  3. love the coffee, decor, and welcoming staff leaves others at starting gate!!!!
    Late openings would work.

  4. Yey!!! Love the coffee and magical mixes you guys do- no longer will we have to make a pilgrimage to Cardiff or Chepstow for decent coffee! Thank you!!!

  5. Great place, friendly staff, and best of all…they cater for people avoiding wheat and lactose. Had a yummy gluten and dairy free hazelnut and praline brownie.

  6. I been Gloucester for 2 year, and I like much here. Thankyou to everyone that make me happy here. I will be sad when move to London. You brighten up my day every time. And your coffee amazing

  7. Thank you Annitaka, we’re happy to hear that. We hope you will come and visit Coffee#1 again in future! Best wishes for your move to London!

  8. Usually go to costa but not anymore! Love it here! Coffee and cakes fab and such cosy decor really relaxing, perfect! Can’t wait to return :)

  9. Like the ambiance of the Glocuester store and especially like the price / taste / size of the welsh cakes. An ideal treat with a coffee without breaking the bank or filling you up!

  10. Really love this place, the decor, the staff and the coffee is great and belive me I’m an expert when it comes to coffee. I have now binned my Nero/Costa/Corretto cards as this is the only place to drink cofffee in Gloucester. The only downside is 7.30am opening would be good to get a coffee before work and we sometimes find the staff can be a bit noisy when stacking the cups and saucers which is slightly annoying when you are chillin out with your coffee. But hey keep up the good work.

  11. Cannot rave about Coffe No. 1 enough… We now drive across town to get coffee from you rather than the more generic options. Your filter coffee is like no other – love it! Only wish there was somewhere free to park nearby so I could take friends and family. You’re doing a great job, staff are friendly, chatty and very accomodating.

  12. What a fantastic experience and staff that know there stuff. Just had a gingerbread latte with a gingerbread man on top :D brilliant. Now my favourite lunchtime treat. Keep up the Great work.

(oh, and cute fella working there too ;) . )

  13. Had a long trip to London tonight and had people looking with envy as I boarded the train with my coffee #1 takeaway cup. Fantastic speedy service and so pleased I didn’t gamble and have a generic coffee from somewhere else. I am now hooked and will be spreading the word around.mcan I arrange space for meetings?

  14. Great staff, great prices and above all great coffee. Staff can not do enough for you and Always greet you and make sure they say thank you and goodbye when you leave, will not be going anywhere else now ive found this gem! Giant teacakes amazing And the free used coffee for your compost is great. My daughter always asks to visit for her favorite baby choc! Keep up the good work guys :-)

  15. What a fantastic place this is. Love going in there in the mornings for the lovely pastries and happy ambience. Service could be a bit quicker from some of the staff. But, overall, a fantastic place to go for your morning caffeine kick.

And above all, the manager is a northener. Keep it going as good as it is.

  16. Very impressed! Visited with my parents just after Christmas and loved it. Decor is brill, love the rustic feel and mis-matched furniture which gives the place so much character. Very chilled out and welcoming.
So much less pompous than the Starbucks/Costa/Nero outlets.

Lovely coffee, and the welsh cakes were sooo tasty!
Recommended to all! Can you open one in Preston, Lancashire please so I’ve got a new local hang-out!

  17. Best coffee in Gloucester centre. Lovely ambience, great menu, and really friendly and helpful staff. Would not go anywhere else in the city, now. Well done guys, and thanks.

  18. Thank you Wes! Glad to hear you’re enjoying the store :)

  19. Just wanted to say thank you to the lovely staff who make this coffee shop so welcoming. I do look forward to my visits.
