Coffee #1 has some very special news to announce…
After ten years of building a wonderful, award winning chain of fifteen coffee houses, we have accepted an offer to become part of the somewhat legendary Welsh brewer, S.A Brain Ltd.
We’re delighted to join forces with this independent, family run company, who, like us started their success story in the Welsh capital.
We’d like to reassure all of our customers that even under new ownership, all the things you love about your local Coffee #1 will remain the same. We are still the same passionate people who make brewing your daily cup to perfection and serving it in the friendliest and cosiest of atmospheres our number one priority.
We’d especially like to thank all of our customers for their loyalty, passion, patience (especially when there is a queue out of the door at 8 in the morning!) and commitment in helping us to create the rather special place that Coffee #1 is, and will continue to be.
We look forward, as always, to seeing you for coffee and cake at your favourite Coffee #1 store soon!
I am sad that you felt the need to turn to a corporate machine, when you were doing amazing things on your own in the last ten years.
Coffee no 1 has been a place that was friendly and welcoming with kind staff.

I really hope u mean it when u say that the shops won’t change. I regularly meet my mum & brother in the one in Albany Road & it is lovely as it is.
I love Coffee #1 and am one of its most regular customers – well I’m in one every day at some point for my usual fix. I really hope that what James has set up doesn’t change. I’d be gutted! PS had the porridge today with honey banana and cinnammon. Absolutely fab.
