Weird and Wonderful Ways to Unwind

Now, it’s come to our attention that we all have something in common in our cosy coffee community (apart from our love of the divine bean of course!) and that is, we all like to relaaax. Just taking a moment out of the day with our favourite steamy brew and just watching the world go by.


We’ve got, hmmm… a fairly quirky bunch of coffee veterans who gravitate towards our stores (it must be the honing devices we use). So this week, we’d like to share some of the wackier ways to relax that we’ve discovered…

Laughter is the best medicine!

We’re talking about ‘Laughter Yoga’. It started off in India and because of its profound health benefits for the mind and body, laughing clubs started popping up in communities all over! Now it’s all the rage over here too with lots of festivals hosting highly popular laughter workshops this summer! We like this clip of John Cleese visiting one laughing club.

Barefoot Gardening

Getting messy and getting involved with nature are both excellent ways to relax. So why not combine the two and try barefoot gardening? The feeling of squelchy mud between your toes is very therapeutic! We like this blog by The Barefoot Gardener. He’s got the right idea!

Hop, Skip, Jump!

Run, dance, put on a bit of Hendrix and play air guitar… However you wish to do it – expend some energy! It’s really important to let off steam every day. Adrenaline gets released into our bodies and we need to make use of it so it doesn’t make us tense.

And after all that…

How about a nice sit down with some coffee and cake. Ahhh that’ll do the trick.
