Jacy the Lifesaver!
We enjoyed a fantastic bit of publicity at the weekend thanks to the actions of Jacy Morgan, a barista at our Cardiff Wellfield store.
Readers of Saturday’s South Wales Echo would have been confronted by a front-page picture of Jacy alongside a large banner headline ‘How this young waitress became a lifesaver’.
Turning to page 5, they could then read all about Jacy’s quite remarkable actions in using the Heimlich Manoeuvre to save the life of a customer (a young mum who was choking on a tablet) at our Cardiff Roath store (Jacy had been covering a shift at the store).
We put at least one member of staff in each store on a first-aid course, and thankfully Jacy had been on the course last year. But it still took a fantastic effort from Jacy to do what she did and we’re all very proud.
