We’re absolutely delighted to announce that we’ve won the big one – the national Group prize at the 2009 Best Beverage Association BEV-E awards, regarded as the industry’s ‘Oscars’.

This award is a highly competitive title awarded to the coffee house chain considered by a panel of judges to be the best in the UK. Here’s the criteria judged:

• Quality of beverage served: Taste, aroma, temperature, presentation
• Service: Speed, accuracy, customer service, range of beverages offered
• Environment: Design and layout, ambience, disabled access, cleanliness, toilets
• Additional services: Those added extras offered to the target market

Six of our stores were visited by the judges – Abergavenny, Chepstow, Clevedon, Bristol Clifton, Monmouth and Bristol Westbury – and we’re pleased to report that they were very kind with their comments.

Next month we’ll be receiving our prize at Manchester United Football Club, with some suitably triumphant photos no doubt appearing here soon after.

In the meantime, a big well done to all the staff for a fantastic effort. Now, how’s about retaining the title next year?!
